SECP Registers Record 5,438 Companies in July as Foreign Investment Interest Grows

Pakistan witnessed a record surge in business registrations during July, with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registering 5,438 new companies, reflecting growing investor confidence and increased business activity across the country.

According to an SECP statement issued on Thursday, the newly registered entities include five international companies that have established offices in Pakistan. These companies hail from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and China, highlighting continued foreign interest in Pakistan’s corporate sector.

The regulator also revealed that 112 of the newly incorporated companies have foreign directors, underscoring the increasing participation of international investors in the country’s business landscape.

The registrations include 3,148 private limited companies, 2,117 single-member companies, 127 limited liability partnerships (LLPs), 28 non-profit organizations, and 18 public companies.

The SECP said the record number of incorporations reflects the improving ease of doing business and the growing appeal of Pakistan’s corporate sector for both local and foreign investors.
