Karachi Court Orders Fresh Autopsy of Mir Raza Ali

KARACHI: Karachi court has ordered a fresh post-mortem of IBA graduate Mir Raza Ali after his family raised concerns over alleged flaws in the initial autopsy.

The court directed authorities to form a medico-legal board to remove the body from the grave and conduct a new post-mortem, along with forensic, DNA and other medical examinations to determine the exact cause of death.

25 years old Ali, was found dead with a gunshot wound in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar on July 29, a day after he went missing. While police are investigating the case as a possible suicide, his family maintains that he was abducted and murdered.

The order comes after Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed highlighted inconsistencies in the initial post-mortem report, including the lack of key forensic tests and questions over the documented gunshot injuries.
