Star Footballer Mohamed Salah Inspires Two British Sisters To Embrace Islam

With his modesty and down-to-earth behavior, star Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah has inspired two British sisters to convert to Islam. A couple of Christian sisters converted to Islam during a visit to Aswan, a city on the Nile River in southern Egypt.

The newly converted Muslim girls are English-born sisters Amy and Nikkie. The sisters said that they have been influenced by the morals of Muslims in Europe and the humility of Mohamed Salah.

“The humility and conduct of the Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah inspired us to accept the beauty of Islam.” Amy and Nikkie expressed their happiness in embracing Islam.

According to the Egyptian news website Al Youm Al Sabea, the two sisters say that they decided to embrace Islam after proper study of the religion. They clarified that the decision was taken without any pressure from anyone.

Born in the English city of Liverpool, Amy and Nikkie grew up hearing Islamophobic remarks from their fellow countrymen. They used to hear about Islam as a fantasy of some extremist groups.

But with time, they started to realize that the real face of Islam was completely different from what they were told. The morals of Muslims residing in Europe and their friendliness to others deeply influenced Amy and Nikkie.

After a visit to Arab Islamic country Egypt for the purpose of tourism, they began to consider converting to Islam. Prompted by Islamic teachings, the two sisters converted to Islam in their country and then declared conversion during their visit to Egypt.

Their journey to Islam was mainly inspired by Mohamed Salah, who captains the national football team of Egypt. He also plays as a forward for English Premier League club Liverpool, the Hometown of Amy and Nikkie.

Popularly known as Mo Salah, Mohamed Salah actively participates in welfare projects for humanity. Salah built an ambulance unit for the ambulance authority in Gharbiya and donated 50 million Egyptian pounds to the National Cancer Institute. He also established the Nagrig Charity Association in 2017, which helps take care of orphans, widows, the elderly, and the sick and provides monthly cash assistance to hundreds of families.
