Love stories that defy borders are taking center stage in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan. This fresh episode follows the narrative of Gao Fang, a young Chinese woman journeying into the Lower Dir district not long after Anju, an Indian woman, made a similar pilgrimage to the Upper Dir district.
The vivacious 20-year-old Gao Fang has reportedly chosen to embrace Islam and is gearing up to wed 18-year-old Javed, hailing from Pakistan. Her journey has been marked by a notable spiritual transformation, taking on the Islamic name Kiswa.
As per our sources, Fang set foot in the Samar Bagh area of Lower Dir armed with a tourist visa, good for three months. Javed, originally a Bajaur district native from KP’s tribal region, has been residing with his uncle in Lower Dir.
Fang’s odyssey into Pakistan was through the Sust border crossing – a gateway linking China and Pakistan. She embarked on a scenic sojourn through the Gilgit-Baltistan region before finally entering the province of KP.
While intentions of matrimony between Fang and Javed are clear, confirmation of their nikah remains nebulous. However, Javed’s future plans do include a visit to China.
According to Javed’s kin, Fang arrived in Lower Dir just three days ago, heralding another chapter in this unfolding international love saga.
Earlier, Anju, an Indian national, entered the region on a short-term, one-month visit visa. Rumors of her conversion to Islam and marriage to her Pakistani love interest, Nasrullah, swirled around. But as the news began to spread and legal documents started circulating online, the couple rejected the claims of marriage and conversion.
These tales of transnational amour highlight the fascinating intersections of love, religion, and culture in the region.
