Violence and attacks on women have increased alarmingly in Pakistan during the past few months. A large number of women are worried and facing problems due to enhanced risk to their safety while many have no one to rely upon for their protection.
In the wake of rising insecurity among women, Islamabad police have launched a self-defense course exclusively for women. It is the second major initiative towards the safety of women after Punjab Police’s Women Safety App.
The training for the Islamabad police physical self-defense program includes karate fights, self-defense in the event of a kidnapping, rape or harassment, weapon handling, and defensive driving.
