Barrister Gohar Says Time for Talks Is Over, Calls for Practical Action

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said it is time for practical action rather than negotiations, adding that the party’s long march is continuing.

Speaking to the media in Peshawar on Tuesday, Gohar said there was no time for further talks. He described the negotiations as a photo session and called for the immediate appearance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and provincial assembly speaker.

“If negotiations were going to happen, they would have happened by now,” he said.

Gohar said PTI had already announced its future course of action and would continue its protest on every available forum.

He also described the imposition of emergency and governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as undemocratic and unconstitutional, saying the party had challenged the measures in court.

The PTI chairman said his party had always described terrorism as a serious threat. He added that the party did not want to make any statement that could affect efforts against terrorism.
