India Is Holding National ‘Cow Science Exam’

Though the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has always been criticized for politicizing an animal, this time they have taken it too far. As if declaring cows as a sacred animal and drinking their urine for health gains wasn’t enough, the Modi-led Indian government is now conducting a nationwide online examination on ‘cow science.’

The intention here is to pique people’s interest in the ‘desi cow,’ but what’s really piquing the interest is the study material.

Given below are some of the lines from the syllabus that are making rounds on social media, and gaining all the interest:

Indian cows are hygienic, hardy, and clever enough not to sit at dirty places.”
“Jersey cows are lazy and not as emotive.”
Indian cows have traces of gold in their milk.”
“Panchgavya is a panacea for health and wellness.”

The test ‘Gau Vigyan’ when translated becomes the ‘cow science.’ It has been learned that a government body, Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog is behind this exam called ‘’Kamdhenu Gau Vigyan Prachar Prasar Examination’ which aims to promote the value of Indian cows against the exported Jersey cows. The effort, however, is being laughed at across the world as the syllabus provides many dubious observations with little evidence.

While the exam will be held free of cost on 25 February, for anybody who is interested, Twitterati is already having a field day.
