6 Petrol Pumps Sealed in Islamabad for Short-Fueling Consumers

ISLAMABAD: District authorities in the federal capital have sealed six petrol pumps and over 40 fuel dispensing nozzles after detecting short-fueling practices and tampering with fuel meters, according to an official statement issued by the district administration.
The crackdown comes as part of an ongoing citywide inspection drive aimed at auditing the measuring accuracy and dispensed volume of petrol and diesel across all filling stations.
During the inspections, enforcement teams confiscated electronic tampering devices used by certain stations to manipulate digital readings and shortchange customers.
Authorities confirmed that two of the six fuel stations were sealed specifically for using these illicit electronic devices, and the staff involved were taken into police custody on the spot.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has directed inspection teams to strictly audit every petrol pump across the capital to protect consumers from overcharging and illegal trade practices.
