The deployment of three companies of the Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi for six months has been approved.
The decision was taken on a request from the Punjab Home Department. The army will work with the district administration to maintain law and order in the city, according to the notification.
Security will be strengthened at sensitive locations and key roads. The troops will also assist the district administration in dealing with any untoward situation.
