The investigation team probing the Mir Raza murder case has written four letters to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) as part of the ongoing investigation, sources said.
According to sources, the investigation team has asked the NCCIA to conduct a forensic examination of Mir Raza’s smartwatch and provide details of the deceased’s digital accounts.
The team has also sought information about Mir Raza’s social media accounts as investigators continue to examine digital evidence related to the case.
Sources said the newly formed investigation team will hold its second meeting at Ferozabad Police Station, after which the team will revisit the crime scene.
Family Lawyer Raises Concerns Over Smartwatch Forensics
Speaking to Geo News, Mir Raza’s family lawyer Jibran Nasir said the deceased’s smartwatch had remained with the former head of the investigation committee for several days.
He said the smartwatch was handed over to the NCCIA a day earlier, but the family does not want its forensic examination to be conducted by the NCCIA.
Jibran Nasir said the smartwatch should instead be sent to a forensic laboratory in Lahore for examination.
He also raised concerns that keeping the smartwatch with the former committee head for several days could have created a risk of tampering with the evidence
