Lahore High Court Orders Meeting Between Noreen Niazi and Daughters in Jail

The Lahore High Court has ordered jail authorities to arrange a one-hour meeting between Noreen Niazi and her two daughters at 10am on November 3.

Justice Abher Gul Khan issued the order while hearing a petition filed by Sakina and Shahraiz against the extension of detention orders for the sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan.

The court directed the petitioners’ lawyer to submit a meeting request to the Lahore deputy commissioner, who must arrange the meeting on Tuesday.

The court also summoned the Lahore deputy commissioner in person on November 4 over the extensions of detention orders for Noreen Niazi and Uzma Khan. It adjourned the hearing on Aleema Khan’s detention extension until next week.

Meanwhile, the home secretary submitted a report in compliance with the court’s order. The Punjab government’s lawyer told the court that Noreen Niazi had received treatment at a hospital and was shifted back to jail on doctors’ advice.

The lawyer also said that Noreen Niazi met her daughter Hajra Niazi on October 29 during her treatment.
