Bushra Bibi Moves Islamabad High Court for Specialist Medical Treatment at Own Expense

Former first lady Bushra Bibi has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC), seeking permission to receive medical treatment from specialist doctors of her choice at her own expense.

In a petition filed in connection with the pending appeals in the £190 million case, Bushra Bibi stated that her eyesight is deteriorating rapidly and requested an immediate examination by an eye specialist.

She has also urged the court to direct Adiala Jail authorities to submit a fresh and comprehensive medical report, including details of her diagnosis, treatment and complete medical records.

The petition further requests that jail authorities ensure the provision of appropriate medical facilities and allow her to receive necessary treatment without delay.

The development comes amid growing concerns over Bushra Bibi’s deteriorating eyesight during her incarceration.

According to an affidavit submitted by her lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, doctors have diagnosed her with a mature cataract and advised another eye surgery around November 15.

Her legal team has urged the court to intervene and ensure timely access to specialist medical care.
