Two Transgenders Gunned Down in Gujranwala

In an unfortunate incident, two transgender people have been killed as a result of a firing incident in the Buda Khalil area of Gujranwala, Punjab.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night after unknown assailants barged into their lodges in Sadiqabad, the neighborhood of Budakhalil, and opened fire for the reason yet to be known.

The Ladhewala police confirmed the incident saying that unidentified armed men rushed into transgender community lodges and resorted to firing, killing two of them on the spot.

The concerned DSP said that he has constituted police teams to carry out raids for the arrest of alleged killers of transgender victims.

The Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab, Inam Ghani, has also taken notice of the merciless killing of the two eunuchs and has demanded a report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala.

The violence against the trans community has become a new normal in Pakistani society where the people of this gender a treated as human waste.

An incident surfaced last night in which a transgender actor Rimal Ali was brutally tortured, her face and head were shaved while her body was burned with cigarettes by an influential personality of Abbottabad.

She had revealed the incident through a video message saying that her life was in danger while calling for help from the judiciary and media.

Prior to her, another transgender from Chunian city in Kasur was raped abducted, physically, and sexually assaulted for three days in December last year.

Her ruthless attackers had also video-tapped the incident and made it viral after the two sides agreed against pursuing the matter.
