Transgenders often referred to as the “third” gender are considered an abomination in society. This is probably why they often suffer discrimination and violence in many spheres of life.
One of such incidents has surfaced in the Allahbad area of Chunian city in Kasur district, where some influential men abducted a transgender person and subjected her to physical and sexual assault for three days.
Not only that, but they also tapped the incident on camera and made it viral after the two sides agreed against pursuing the matter.
A clip of the video is making rounds on social media in which the transgender appears to be hanging upside down and one of the culprits is seen beating her with a baton.
According to the police, the incident occurred two months back, when the transgender, who goes by the name ‘Sohana’ was invited in the pretense of a dance function but was later taken captive. The eunuch said she faced gruesome torture for three days.
Commenting on the viral video, DPO Kasur Imran Kishwar said that the incident happened between 27 and 28 October.
He said that three people, Zulfiqar, Shani, and Asif, were initially booked for the abduction of the transgender. However, they were released on bail after the two sides decided against pursuing the case.
An agreement to this effect signed by the two parties was also submitted to the police. He said the police will take action against the culprits if the other party approaches them again.
