The 9th edition of the annual Lahore Literary Festival is set to begin on February 18th, 2021. The Lahore Literary Festival is an international festival organized by LLF, a non-profit organization, annually in the city of Lahore.
The festival, first held in 2013, is now reckoned as one of South Asia’s premier cultural events. The festival got international recognition when in 2019, UNESCO Creative Cities Network added Lahore to its network of 180 cities from 72 countries.
This year, however, the festival is being called All-Virtual Lahore Literary Festival as for the first time, the 4 days event will be held virtually due to the Covid19 pandemic. The All-Star All-Virtual festival will be streamed live on both Facebook and YouTube from Feb, 18th to 21st. Scholars and specialists from all curves of the globe will be featured in this special edition.

The event is designed to acknowledge the literary accomplishments of authors from all regions of the world including India, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe.
A number of notable guests, including Adeela Suleman, Nazish Ataullah, F.S. Aijazuddin, Shahid Hamid, Mehr Afshan Farooqi, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Kamila Shamsie, Ahmed Rashid, Diana Darke, Vali Nasr, and Khaled Ahmed will be participating. One of the prominent participation is “The forty rules of love” by famed Turkish-British writer Elif Shafak.
The festival has also dedicated several sessions to different leitmotifs of literature such as Urdu, Pakistani English Fiction, War, and Human Rights.
The Lahore Literary Festival 2021 edition is a treat for literature admirers all over the world as it will be accessible to everyone amid the Covid-19 pandemic. LLF is determined to celebrate the pure power of the written word and explore the interconnections between literature and art, theater, film, television, journalism, and activism.
