The wholesome face of Pakistani dramas Sanam Jung has finally opened up about rumors regarding her divorce with husband Syed Abdul Qassam Jafri.
During an interview with a publication, the actress talked about ruthless assumptions people make about her life. Sanam revealed that one such presumption had put a question mark on her marital status.
“I was not upset at all due to the false news of my divorce on social media. Just because I didn’t post pictures with my husband, everyone thought we had gotten a divorce,” Saman said.
The doe-eyed actress blamed social media for unnecessary intervention in celebrities’ life. She explained how a mere joke made by her escalated into a whole new controversy.
“Someone wrote the same thing in the comment below my Instagram post, so I also jokingly wrote that it happened because of you. I did not expect that this joke would spread so much that it will put pressure on the family as well.”
The mother-of-one continued to say that she maintains a balance between her home and work.
“I make my daughter’s breakfast myself, send her to school and keep in touch with family by phone even when I’m shooting.”
Despite being the traditional “innocent” face of Pakistani dramas, Sanam has recently appeared in a negative role in drama serial Qarar. Interestingly, this new look of her is also being liked a lot by the viewers. The Alvida star said she was overwhelmed with the response she has received for her role.
“I have been playing roles in which I used to cry. This time, I thought why not make others cry instead of being helpless and crying in the drama.”
When Jung was asked if she makes her own decisions in her real life like the character in the drama, she said:
“In the role I played, the girl makes all the decisions herself, but I can’t say that I can relate. I take care of the consent of the family in all my decisions.”
