The US Congress has passed a resolution condemning the Republican congressman Paul Gosar who posted an anime video of himself killing a congresswoman and threatening the president. The Congress has also terminated the membership of Paul Gosar from two committees while the house speaker had made him stand during the passage of the condemnation resolution.
The Republican member Paul Gosar had shared an animated video of the assassination of the Democrat member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on his Twitter. The same video also depicted Gosar wielding two swords at President Joe Biden.
“Any anime fans out there?”Gosar had written in the caption.
In her floor speech, the virtually threatened congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez dismissed the idea that the video was just a joke.
“This is not about me. This is not about representative Gosar. But this is about what we are willing to accept,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
“It's pretty cut and dry: does anyone in this chamber find this behavior acceptable? Would you allow that in your home? And if it's not accepted there, why is it accepted here?”

Alexandria continued to add that members of the Republican Party have accepted the threat to her life as a joke only because it was an anime.
“Would you allow depictions of violence against women in your home? Do you think this should happen on a school board? In a city council? In a church? If it’s not acceptable there, why should it be acceptable here?” she questioned the Republican members of Congress.
Paul Gosar, however, did not apologize, and right after being censured, he retweeted the same video. He insisted that the video merely depicts a policy battle over immigration saying that he had “self-censored” due to a sense of “compassion for those who generally felt offense.”
After the heated speech in the house, Alexandria took to her Instagram to condemn Paul Gosar. In a live video recorded in front of The United States House of Representatives, she mentioned that Paul was also a racist who financially supported white supremacist organizations.
