Rawalpindi Couple Sentenced to Death for Raping, Filming 45 Girls

A Rawalpindi couple has been sentenced to life and death for kidnapping, raping, recording the act, and blackmailing dozens of girls on the basis of those videos over the years.

The sentences were handed over by the Additional District and Sessions Judge Jahangir Gondal on Monday. He awarded a death sentence to Qasim Jahangir, also a three-year jail term for sexually assaulting and recording inappropriate videos of multiple girls. He was also slapped with a fine of Rs. 2.5 million.

The convict’s wife, Kiran Jahangir, has been awarded life imprisonment with a fine of one million rupees.

The couple, arrested in August 2019, had confessed to the kidnapping and sexually assaulting 45 girls, taking their photographs and making inappropriate videos of at least 10 victims.

Their criminal streak was broken in a most dramatic fashion after Kiran had abducted a female student, who was married, from outside Gordon College by pretending to be a fellow student.

The female student later approached the police complaining that she was abducted by a woman in the pretense of a lift who later sexually assaulted her and filmed the act.

Upon her identification, the police raided their residence in Gulistan Colony and apprehended the two on the scene, besides confiscating their gadgets including mobile phones laptops, and pen drives. They threatened and blackmailed the victim by showing her sexually explicit video. She was dropped on Tipu Road later at night.

According to her, the couple also bragged to have kidnapped eight to ten girls of age 10 to 12, subject them to this heinous crime, and film them.

They later confessed this before the police and said that those photographs and videos were sold out to an international porn website.
