“They knew each other intimately from the day they were born. There is a unique intimacy between two siblings brought up together, brought up royal together, that is absolutely fascinating,” Morton shared.

He continued: “The parallels between William and Harry and Elizabeth and Margaret are there to be seen. In both cases you have one sibling who pushes boundaries,” said Morton, “while the other is more cautious.”

The author shared that Prince Harry uses the Queen’s name and popularity for his own causes in a way Margaret never did.

“She much preferred to be carousing until 4 in the morning.”

A Rude Character

Princess Margaret’s overall fame was of a ‘rude princess.’ She was one of the members of the royal family that the palace staff hated dealing with. She was popularly known as “Her Rude Highness” Princess Margaret.

From staffers to aids, many found the princess’s demands to be ludicrous. Even Author Anne de Courcy wrote about the princess’s attitude and explained to Vanity Fair that Princess Margaret treated “those who looked after her inconsiderately and with maddening demands that often caused endless extra work.”
