Pakistani-Canadian Couple Raising Awareness About Islam Through TikTok

A Pakistani-Canadian couple is using TikTok to educate others about Islam. The couple is being praised for increasing awareness about the Islamic code of life.

Mehdi Isa and Mubina are a Muslim couple based in Canada who are using the platform TikTok to show the norms and routine of Muslims. Their videos vary from do’s and don’ts in Islam to clearing many misconceptions about the religion.

Mubina is a hijabi and is seen wearing a face veil in all of the videos. She along with her husband is shattering the clichés associated with Islam through their videos. The most remarkable feature of their content is highlighting the difference between the real teachings of Islam and the cultural stereotypes wrongly associated with it.

Mehdi and Mubina met each other a few years ago when they used to work together at a lab. Since Mubina used to wear a veil, Mehdi never got to see her face before marriage but fell in love with her anyway.

In spite of covering her face, Mubina is living a full life with her husband and is seen doing all the adventures which most girls wouldn’t. Mubina credits her husband for encouraging her to carry the veil and still do her things.

“So many people told me that my dress will limit me. That my face veil will make it so I can’t play sports, can’t skate, can’t ride my bike. But my face veil empowers me. I would like to thank my husband who is the reason behind my confidence and empowerment. He is the reason I can post today and not feel shy.”
