Noor Beheaded, Khadija’s Stabber Walks Free While Wishah’s Pleas Fall On Deaf Ears

Islamabad police have arrested the parents of Zahir Jaffer, the savage murderer of Noor Mukadam, a former diplomat’s daughter. Two servants of the Jaffer family have also been detained based on aiding the murder.

Zakir Jaffer, Mrs Asmat Zakir, Jamil Ahmed and Muhammad Iftikhar (security guard and servant) have been arrested and shifted to Kohsar Police Station. A two-day physical remand of the detainees has been approved by the court.

Noor Mukadam was slaughtered at a house in the F-7 sector of Islamabad on July 20. The culprit, identified as Zahir Jaffer, was arrested on the same day from the site of murder along with the weapon.

According to the police, Zahir was sound, in his senses when he was arrested and was not under the influence of any drugs. After stabbing and beheading Noor, he attacked some other people too but when the police reached the house he had been tied up.

Zahir has been booked under section 176 (omission to give notice or information to public servant by a person legally bound to give) 109 PPC (Abetment), 201 (causing of the disappearance of evidence) and 511 (attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or a shorter-term).

As the murder case of 27-year-old Noor Mukadam unfolds, more horrifying details have started to surface. The sources close to the suspect have revealed that Noor Mukadam tried to escape from the building and jumped down from the gallery during the callous torture by the accused. Jaffer’s security guard, instead of rescuing her, handed her back to the Zahir, a killer in making at the moment.

The gruesomeness of the incident does not end here. It is also reported the “American” citizen Zahir had discussed with his friends about killing his own parents and fleeing to the US afterwards. The savage killer Zahir Jaffer was not only CEO of his parent’s company but also a “certified psychotherapist” at Therapy Works, a well-reputed rehab centre of the country.

The security guard informed the parents of the Zahir in Karachi about the grisly act of their son at about 3.30 pm whereas Noor Mukadam was slaughtered at 7.00 pm. Despite having more than three hours to save Noor’s life, neither the security guard nor the parents informed the area police.

Here is a look into Noor’s case by Neelam Aslam.

While Twitter still mourns over bloodied, headless corpse of Noor Muqaddam, Shah Hussain who stabbed Khadija Siddiqui 23 times, has been released from jail after serving only 3.5yrs against his 5yr sentence. Wishah Abu Bakar, the wife of late Nawab Akbar Bugti’s youngest son Shahzawar Bugti, is forced to live in hiding while her husband continues to roam freely and threaten her.

A new hashtag with a new name trending on Twitter every day is a wake-up call for both the public and law enforcement agencies. Are these women not important enough to be protected but fit to be blamed for all the atrocities they attract towards themselves? Are we waiting for Shah Hussain to finish the job he couldn’t before? Or Wishah’s husband to find her and materialize his threats?
