A man tried to tackle the Imam during the Friday sermon at Masjid al-Haram. Makkah police arrested the man that charged the pulpit where the Imam was delivering his sermon.
The incident was caught on camera. A man wearing an ihram, compulsory garb for people performing the pilgrimage in Makkah, can be seen charging the pulpit. He is then seen being tackled by security guards. The spokesperson for the Makkah police then reported that he was then arrested and legal action will be initiated against him.
According to Arab News,was charged by the man who was brandishing a stick. The man was apparently a visitor at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Previously there was a similar incident at Masjid al-Haram in Saudi Arabia. Back on March 30th, a man brandishing a knife was arrested from the premises of Masjid al-Haram. The man was also raising slogans of terrorist outfits.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the man was taken into apprehended and taken into police custody from the first floor of the mosque.
At the time a spokesperson for Makkah police told the Saudi state agency, the man was seen brandishing a knife on the first floor shortly after Asr prayers. He was apprehended and arrested by law enforcement at the scene.
Legal procedure was initiated against the man. There is no follow-up of the charges against him and his conviction.
