Gender Bias: Women Celebrities Are Still Being Asked Inappropriate And Sexist Questions

“What are you wearing?” “Why are you wearing that?” “That’s not how a girl is supposed to behave!” One would think that only commoner women have to face such questions but more than often life of female celebrities is not much different either.

We are currently in the 21st year of the 21st century, yet business of sexism is booming and expanding. From telling women what to wear to defining a “feminine” outlook for them, a woman’s business is apparently everyone’s business even if they have made it big.

With perhaps a few miraculous exceptions, every female star has been asked ignorant, sexist, and humiliating questions during interviews. Some women respond beautifully, some loose the cool, while some manage to dodge the question. But they all have to deal with sexism in even in their stardom life.

A male celebrity may not be asked about his skin care system five times in a single interview, but many women are asked these dumb and dull questions after the interview.

“When are you having babies? Did you get a plastic surgery? Do sports affect your femininity? Will you retire after marriage? ARE YOU A BAD MOM?”

From Britney Spears to Paris Hilton, Taylor Swift to Serena Williams, almost every female has been subjected to such tacky questions. A celebrity is a public figure but that does not mean they are open for being humiliated in front of camera. Most importantly, would they even be asking these questions if the guest were a man?

As we move towards intellectual enlightenment and awareness, more and more female celebrities and public figures are calling on the media about sexuality, neutrality, misogyny and just plain lazy and stereotypical questions.

Since, the show managers are too busy scoring ratings for their show, we have crafted some questions for the interviewers. Instead of sexualizing female stars and jumping on bandwagon of dumb questions, watch their work, admire their talent, come up with better questions or hire an author to help you create logical questions.
