A manager of a bank near Faisalabad’s Sadhar Bypass allegedly killed a fellow woman employee with several shots of a gun. The incident took place inside the premises of the said bank.
According to the FIR available with The Blindside, 28-year-old victim Aliya Javed was employed as Custom Services Officer at a branch of The Bank of Punjab in Faisalabad. On Thursday, she got involved in a heated argument with Mansoor Ali, the manager of the bank.
As per the eyewitnesses, the accused manager Mansoor made bitter remarks about his female colleague. After the argument, Aliya tried to leave the bank but was shot several times by the accused.
By the time the rescue team arrived, Aliya had already succumbed to her injuries and died on the spot.
“Bank manager Mansoor Ali shot and injured bank employee Alia Javed with a pistol, killing her on the spot. The forensic team has been called and legal action is being taken as per rules,” the police incident report read.
After the crime, the accused was apprehended by the bank employees in an act of escape. Thikriwala police took the accused into custody and shifted the body to the postmortem department.
Police have arrested bank manager Mansoor and are making further investigations. The accused claimed that he was being blackmailed by the victim.
On the other hand, the victim’s family has alleged Mansoor of harassing her on many occasions. The victim’s cousin told the police that the accused had threatened her on multiple occasions.
A case against Mansoor Ali has been registered. CCTV footage from the crime scene has also been obtained while the suspect is being questioned by the police.
Crimes against women have surged sharply in Faisalabad during the last few months. In July, a woman was killed for refusing a marriage proposal in Faisalabad while another was found dead in a hotel room.
