Case Registered Against Couple’s Bold Photo Shoot In Front of Quaid’s Portrait

Federal law enforcers have registered a case against a male and a female model involved in the obscene photo shoot in front of Quaid e Azam’s portrait. The viral duo is a member of the ‘Mystical Shayari band’ who shot photos under Quaid’s motto Unity, Faith & Discipline in Islamabad.

The two musicians had dressed in designer clothes and posed before a giant 50-feet tall portrait of Quaid, mounted on a hill overlooking the Islamabad expressway. The photoshoot triggered a nationwide cry when the pictures appeared on the Instagram handle ‘mysticalshayari’. Although the Instagram account has now been deleted, screenshots continue to circulate on social media platforms.

A complaint was filed by a citizen named Rashid Malik, Chairman of Tehreek-e-Islamabad, in Coral Police Station of Islamabad. The plaintiff said in the complaint that protecting the sanctity of sacred and historical places and persons in the city is his duty being a citizen of Islamabad.

“I would like to bring to your notice that it is a violation of the honor of our Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to dance and take naked pictures of a boy and a girl in front of Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait installed in Koral Chowk,” the complaint read.

The plaintiff also mentioned the state of grief and anger of Pakistani citizens over the incident. He requested the authorities to forensically test the viral images and lodge an FIR if the incident actually happened. He called for disciplinary action against the culprits so such incidents could be prevented in future.

Following the FIR, Islamabad police have launched investigations to find the couple involved in the photoshoot that has infuriated the netizens across the country.

Senior journalist and The News International columnist Ansar Abbasi also slammed the couple for “extreme obscenity in public”. Abbasi tagged the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad on Twitter and asked for the couple to be arrested for spreading obscenity.

In response to Ansar Abbasi’s tweet, the Islamabad DC Hamza Shafqaat requested internet users to share further details regarding the occurrence before the possible action.
