Talented Pakistani actress Armeena Khan is quite active on social media, which often runs her into trolls. However, she has mastered the art of shutting them down with befitting replies.
In a recent interview with Eastern Eye, the ‘Janaan’ actress spoke about toxicity on social media. Khan shared an excerpt from the interview on her Instagram, in which she expressed her views on how brutal trolls make life difficult for youth, especially for little girls on social media.
Armeena viewed that social media is a place for everyone, and trolls shouldn’t be allowed to deny other people’s space by ‘poisoning platforms.’
“You see, social media should be a safe space for young people, especially little girls, to be inspired, to learn and connect with role models. Trolls disrupt this function. They seek to deny other space by poisoning platforms.”
Commenting on the increasing vulgarity toxicity on social platforms, the actress called for the young girls’ safety on social media.
“Why should a misogynistic scumbag with mummy issues shut down a little girl from accessing freely available avenues?”
She also called out social media companies for failing in their duty to modulate this incessant troll activity on their platforms.
Armeena admitted that she was shocked to see so much negativity on social platforms and said trolls are among the downsides of the internet.
