In yet another shocking development, the Indian army has stooped so low as to monitor the activities of women and children through secret cameras in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The army has installed cameras in Badgam district’s Soibug area to monitor Kashmiri women and children while they work in their lawns and orchards, locals told Kashmir Media Service.
Residents say the Indian army’s move is intended to instill fear and insecurity into the local population. The Indian troops are not even sparing women and children and want to use them as a weapon to sabotage the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people.
The Indian army wants to bruise Kashmiris in every way possible and punish them for demanding freedom against India’s illegal occupation of their motherland. And to achieve this aim, the oppressors are applying all kinds of nefarious and strong-arm tactics.
As if killing and maiming the innocent youth of Kashmir is not enough, the Indian army is also hurting the religious sentiments of Kashmiris, according to an earlier report by Kashmir Media Service.
In one such incident occurred recently, Indian troops damaged and desecrated a mosque and the Holy Quran during an operation in the Jan Mohalla area of Shopian district.
This is not the first time the Indian army is taking such oppressive measures.
From violating the sanctity of Jamia Masjid Srinagar during a military operation in August 1989 to desecrating the Srinagar’s Hazratbal Shrine during a military siege in November 1993 to burning down Charar-e-Sharief shrine in May 1995, it’s a long list of heinous crimes committed regularly by the secular Indian state.
Political experts and analysts also fear that India’s Hindutva forces have also planned to destroy Islamic centers in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
“Modi wants episodes like the Babri Masjid demolition to happen across India and particularly in occupied Kashmir. The Modi brigade has announced to bring back a pre-Islamic era and impose a predominant Hindu culture in the occupied territory. BJP and RSS leaders have openly said that 50,000 temples will be built in Kashmir,” the experts said.
Kashmir has been illegally occupied by India for more than 70 years now and has been a flashpoint between India and Pakistan.
Since gaining independence in 1947, the neighboring countries have fought three full-scale wars, two of which have been over Kashmir.
