Zara Noor Abbas is one of the fresh yet fine faces of the Pakistani drama industry. Despite her family links, the actress has managed to earn a name for herself by her quality performance.
Recently, the 31-year-old star held a Question and Answer session on her Instagram to address gender imparity. She posed her concern to her followers and asked for their opinion.
She questioned why working women are asked to step back when they announce that they are pregnant while men who are starting families aren’t asked the same.
While her query on her Instagram Stories opened a debate box, many interesting answers to her question also emerged.
Some followers simply called it straight misogyny, whereas others had some strange misconceptions about working women.
The debate took an interesting turn when one of Zara’s followers said that women are ‘belittled.’ The responder asserted that at every step of their life women are belittled and they are not equal to men.
Interestingly, Zara didn’t disagree on the equality part. She proceeded to say that she doesn’t believe men and women are equal. She believes that the two genders have their own place.
“Men and women are not equal. They have their own place and women have their own. Plus, women give birth to another human being. Men can’t do that,” Zara wrote.
However, she disagreed on the belittled part and said women were not always belittled. She objected that why women’s choices in life were repeatedly questioned.
“They are repeatedly questioned for their choices in life. Why is that question not the standard for men in the corporate world?”
