Once again the rumored news of Imran Khan and Rekha almost tying the knot has resurfaced online. Back in their heyday the Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan and Bollywood diva Rekha were rumored to be in a relationship.
Interestingly, several cricketers who played with Imran had asserted the two had an affair. However, to date, no one can confirm if their relationship was sailing towards deeper waters.
Public appearances together had fans flocking to know more about their relationship. At one point Imran Khan even reportedly stayed a whole month with Rekha.
“Imran Khan stayed almost the whole of April in Bombay. During this period, he and Rekha were seen enjoying each other’s company on the sea beach, the residence of Premi Shivar Godraj, and at night clubs,” reported The Star
Soon enough there emerged a report of the two planning to tie the knot. One Indian newspaper sparked the conversation. At the time the report in the Indian film journal ‘Movie’ talked about how Rekha’s mother had also approved of the union.
“She had gone to Delhi and consulted a najoomi [astrologer] if Imran could be an ideal suiter to her daughter. No one knows what the najoomi had said but Rekha’s mother was convinced that Imran could be a welcome addition to her family.”
Even going as far as to say that Rekha’s mother consulted an astrologist to determine if Imran Khan and Rekha were a suitable match. It’s unclear if their stars aligned or not, but Imran Khan had a reputation of being a ‘serial bachelor’ at the time. Surprisingly, Rekha had not come forth to address these rumors, while she had no qualms boldly admitting to her relationship with Amitabh Bachchan.
Despite dating several socialites and celebs, his high-profile romances fizzled out. Another Bollywood diva Zeenat Aman was also rumored to have dated the ‘captain’.
It is pertinent to mention that the famous skipper once said;
“The company of actresses is good for a short period. I enjoy their company for some time and then move ahead. I cannot even think to marry a movie actress.”
In the end, he married British socialite Jemima Goldsmith but his marriage didn’t last. His second wife was another British public personality. That marriage didn’t even last a year. He is currently married to a spiritual leader.
