“I’m the most loved child of my family. I have 2 brothers who are married and my sisters-in-law love me as I’m their own child. My family raised me with love and care and even today they are more protective of me than myself.”

Talking about her marriage Komal revealed that her husband kept her imprisoned at home for four years and she couldn’t go anywhere. After the wedding, Komal moved to Oman with her husband where he seized her visa and passport.

According to Komal, her husband was mentally sick and used to visit a psychiatrist. He would beat her often and one day he hit her with a bottle of coke which bruised her eye. When her parents saw that they became suspicious and tried to convince her to return to Pakistan. But Komal was afraid that her husband might kill her if she tried to leave.

She was forced to starve for days because he would not give her any money or food.

My parents raised me like a princess but the years I spent in Oman felt like I was living in hell. My husband never loved me instead he would beat me mercilessly.

Komal revealed that it was her father who never left her side and finally came to her rescue. He himself came to Oman, packed her bag with his own hands, and took her back home with him.

When asked how she made her living in those four years, Komal told that she used to give tuition to kids. She would also cook some food and sell it so she herself could eat something.

She couldn’t do a job since she was not allowed to go anywhere. So she learned cooking and approached a nearby store to cook for them.

“I saved some money, got deep freezers at home and my business expanded there which led me to think about stepping out of that relation,” said Komal.

While sharing her tragic story, Komal also emphasized that skill sets are more important for girls than education so that they can do something on their own.
