A brave teenage girl in England’s Derbyshire is being hailed for escaping an alleged attacker and sexual predator by head-butting him. The incident occurred along a path in Allen Street Recreation Ground in Alvaston on Tuesday evening.
The girl, whose name has been kept secret for security purposes, told the police that the attacker had a number of distinctive cuts and a mark on the back of his left hand.
The man was described as having a long horizontal cut just below his little finger, a cut around the top of his index finger, and a mark on the back of his hand a little below his index finger.
The case was not being taken seriously by the police until initially. However, the police have sped up their search as campaigners in Derby prepare to hold an online vigil for Sarah Everard and other women.

Ms Everard, 33, disappeared when walking home from Clapham to Brixton in south London last week. Her body was found in an area of woodland in Ashford, Kent.
Derby Police said that they have increased the security in the area since the incident occurred.
The online vigil, called Reclaim Derby Streets, was being held earlier this week. A group of women campaigners in Derby has organized the vigil, including Women’s Day Derby and Derby End Violence Against Women Coalition.
They said it was for Sarah Everard and “all who have been taken, go missing, endure harassment, feel unsafe, or face the fear of misogynist violence.”
Surprisingly, a Metropolitan Police officer, Wayne Couzens, has been found responsible for the sad incident. He was charged with the kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard and was presented before the court.
