Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex and the wife of Prince Harry has been making headlines globally ever since her landmark interview with Oprah Winfrey was aired on March 7.
In the say-it-all interview, the Duke and the Duchess shared the ups and downs of their short-lived experience with the royal house as a couple. Meghan revealed that she felt suicidal while living the royal life. The Duchess even said that her multiple pleas for mental health support were also rejected.
The interview-cum-charge sheet against the Royal family attracted a mixed response from the world. While a majority sided with the disgruntled couple, some believed Meghan was exaggerating the facts. Among those who disbelieved her was famous TV host, Piers Morgan.
In his show, Morgan said he didn’t believe a word she had said in her interview, and later called her “Princess Pinocchio” in a tweet. His comment created a controversy in the UK, and his show attracted more than 41,000 complaints to the country’s media regulator Ofcom, besides costing him his high-profile job on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.
As per the British media reports, the royal couple has also complained to broadcaster ITV. Meanwhile, a spokesperson of Ofcom also confirmed receiving a complaint from the royal couple.
Meghan and Harry have been in a constant clash with Britain’s media, particularly the tabloid newspapers which they have accused of bigotry and invading their privacy.
