Gone are the days when women were hushed up in patriarchal societies like the one in India. Such petty tactics won’t work in this modern age – especially with western women.
This was message delivered by international personalities Greta Thunberg and Meena Harris to Indians after they were badly threatened and attacked for raising their voices in favor of the ongoing farmers’ protest in the Indian capital New Delhi.
Despite being brutally targeted on social media, Climate change activist Thunberg and the niece of the US Vice-President Kamala Harris stood firm on their stance.

Thunberg also issued a strong statement on Twitter.
“I still #StandWithFarmers and support their peaceful protest. No amount of hate, threats, or violations of human rights will ever change that. #FarmersProtest.”

Before them, reckless Modi bhagts slammed the US pop star, Rihanna, for the same cause and even called her the ISI agent. The Indian government even threatened legal action against Twitter for not taking down other content on the protests.
Social media platforms have become the major battlegrounds since tens of thousands of farmers staged a protest against farmers’ reforms on the outskirts of New Delhi in November.
Rihanna, with more than 100 million Twitter followers, share the link to a CNN story about internet blackout at some protest camps and wrote: “Why aren´t we talking about this?!”

The tweet attracted thousands of likes, comments, and retweets, irking pro-Modi Indians.
Thunberg also tweeted a story about the blackout, saying: “We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India.”
