Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari is facing severe criticism on social media for his insensitive remarks during conservation with protestors of the Shia-Hazara community in Quetta.
The SAPM was sent to Quetta for negotiations with the protestors. A video clip of Bukhari is doing rounds on social media in which he is asking the protestors how will they benefit from the PM’s visit. He adds that if he comes this time, everyone will demand the same the next time something like that happens.
Twitter users have lashed out at Bukhari for his insensitive behavior while talking to the aggrieved protestors.
Listening to Zulfi Bukhari bargain with members of grieving Hazara community with words like “faida” shows this govt is not only tone deaf it also lacks basic human emotions like empathy.
Govt is in shambles in every possible way. How unfortunate for us all. #hazaragenocide

The members of the said community have been protesting over the stone-cold killing of 11 coal miners in Mach for four days. The members of the community have vowed to continue the sit-in until Prime Minister Imran Khan visits them himself. They refused to bury the departed until their demands are met.
Before Bukhari, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had visited the protesters and had announced Rs. 0.25 million for families of victims.
