Work from home will change the dynamics of women employment

 

As the new pandemic corona virus has shaken the global economy, women have also suffered greatly from its drastic effects. In the time of crisis, Indian industry of technology services worth 200 Billion dollars with an amended set of rules and regulations has created numerous opportunities for women of India.

Tina, 45 years, citizen of New Delhi and a writer quit her job in 2018 due to health emergencies at her home. But as coronavirus and subsequently the situation of lockdown changed the dynamics of the workplace, Tina found an opportunity to get herself employed again for work from home.

She got a job at WNS global services where she supervises 100 employees sitting 900 miles away from the office that is situated in Pune. 

The recent amendments in tech service industries have enabled employees to work from anywhere instead of office based jobs and it can also become a permanent policy.

Similar to Pakistani society’s structure, women often have to sacrifice their jobs in order to comply with their household responsibilities but the new policy will prove to be a great help for such women. Tina says that to work in an organization as an operations leader and that too by sitting at home was unimaginable a few years ago. The new policy amendments will be a game changer for women employment. One third of employees working in the field of tech services in India constitute women and by that we can say that the field is almost balanced by both the genders but the new policy will surely create a perfect gender balance in the tech field.
