100-Member Jirga Formed to Urge PTI to Postpone Long March

PESHAWAR: A 100-member jirga has been formed to urge Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to postpone its planned long march.

The jirga members, including tribal elders, will meet Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor today to discuss the issue.

The jirga will also hold meetings with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and federal representatives.

The elders said protests and a long march would not benefit anyone, adding that the province’s problems could not be resolved through a long march.

The jirga is expected to convey its concerns to the relevant political leadership and call for resolving provincial issues through dialogue and other political means.
