Pakistan Economy Better Positioned to Face Global Challenges: Moody’s

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s economy is better positioned to withstand global and regional economic challenges than it was during the 2022 oil crisis, Moody’s Assistant Vice President Grace Lim said on Tuesday.

In her analysis of Pakistan’s economy, Lim said the country had achieved significant economic stability over the past two years, strengthening its ability to absorb external shocks.

She said the impact of the Strait of Hormuz crisis on Pakistan is expected to be lower than during the 2022 oil crisis.

According to Lim, low inflation, a stable exchange rate and improved foreign exchange reserves are among Pakistan’s key economic strengths. The increase in foreign exchange reserves is also providing the country with stronger economic buffers.

Lim said Pakistan is now better prepared to deal with global and regional economic challenges, while the economic stability achieved over the past two years has improved the country’s resilience against external pressures.
