ISLAMABAD: Several government schools in different parts of Islamabad were closed on Monday amid security concerns linked to ongoing protests, sources said.
According to sources, the decision was taken as a precautionary measure in view of the prevailing security situation and possible disruption caused by protests.
School administrations have informed parents about the closure, sources said.
Meanwhile, police personnel are expected to be stationed at schools in the G-7 Sitara Market area, where a holiday has also been announced.
Authorities have not yet indicated how long the closures will remain in effect.
