Shafi Jan Confirms Muhammad Hussain Was PTI Worker

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shafi Jan has confirmed that Muhammad Hussain, who was killed during a security forces operation on Rawalpindi’s Mall Road, was a PTI worker.

Speaking on Geo News’ program Capital Talk, Shafi Jan said Hussain was a resident of Khyber district and belonged to the constituency of PTI MPA Abdul Ghani.

He clarified that Hussain did not hold any party position and had no official responsibility in PTI.

Shafi Jan Demands Full Investigation

Shafi Jan said Hussain had been facing mental health problems for the past nine months.

He condemned the firing on a security official but said it was unfair to link the incident directly to PTI.

He also rejected attempts to connect the incident with PTI’s planned long march.

Shafi Jan demanded the release of CCTV footage from Mall Road and called for a complete investigation into the incident.

He said the facts should come out before anyone links the incident to the party.

Security sources earlier said Muhammad Hussain opened fire at a security forces vehicle on Mall Road. The forces responded and killed him.

The sources also claimed that a PTI flag, weapons, ammunition, a motorcycle and important documents were recovered from his possession.

Shafi Jan said the investigation should determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
