Former Pakistani first lady Bushra Bibi has approached the Federal Constitutional Court seeking an early hearing of her appeal for suspension of her sentence in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case.
According to the application, Bushra Bibi’s eye condition has recurred and medical facilities available to her in jail are inadequate. The petition argues that further delays in treatment could pose risks to her remaining vision and overall health.
The application states that Bushra Bibi remains in jail while her appeal is awaiting a hearing. It requests that the sentence suspension appeal be fixed for hearing during the week beginning September 21, 2026.
The petition further argues that prolonged and uncertain delays have already caused serious harm and asks the court to schedule the appeal at the earliest in the interest of justice.
An accountability court sentenced Bushra Bibi to seven years in prison in the £190 million case in January 2025. She and Imran Khan later challenged their convictions before the Islamabad High Court.
